One of Four Platforms, Chosen for the Problem
The Phoenix platform is one of the energy systems in this practice. Which one you are treated on is a clinical decision made after your skin is assessed, not a preference.

Why We Talk About the Plan Before the Machine
Phoenix is one of four energy platforms here, alongside Spectrum, the PIX-E pico laser and Newbaskin. Carrying a range is the point. A practice with one device treats every concern with that device, and the settings get pushed to cover problems the platform was never the right answer for.
What decides which platform treats you is your skin type, what you are actually trying to change, how much recovery you can absorb and what your history allows. That assessment happens before a device is chosen, which is the reverse of how most people expect it to work.
We will tell you plainly what this platform is being used for in your case and why it was chosen over the other three. If the honest answer is that a different platform, or no energy treatment at all, suits you better, that is what you will hear.
Come In If Any of This Applies
You do not need to know which device you want. Working that out is our job, not yours.
Three Steps, Start to Finish
Skin Typed and Assessed
Fitzpatrick type, history, recent sun and current medication all change what is safe. This is not a formality and it decides the settings.
The Platform Is Chosen for You
We explain which of the four we are recommending and why. Where a test patch is appropriate we do that first and wait.
Sequenced, Then Reviewed
Energy treatments build across sessions. Pushing settings to finish faster is how complications happen and we will not do it.
A Practice With One Device Has One Answer
Carrying four platforms is what lets the treatment be chosen for your skin instead of for the room.
What to Expect Around a Session
How Energy Treatment Actually Works
Energy based skin treatment relies on selective photothermolysis. A wavelength is chosen because a specific target in the skin absorbs it far more strongly than the tissue around it does. Melanin absorbs some wavelengths, hemoglobin absorbs others, water absorbs others again. The target takes up the energy and the surrounding tissue is largely spared.
Pulse duration and fluence then decide what happens to that target and how much heat spreads beyond it. Those two numbers, matched to your skin type, are most of the difference between a good result and a burn, and they are set by the person treating you rather than by the machine.
Real risks are burns, blistering, and pigment change in either direction, all of which rise sharply on recently tanned skin or on a skin type that was never properly assessed. We will go through what applies to your skin specifically before anything is set.

What People Ask Us First
Which concerns we treat on this platform depends on your skin and your goal, and we will tell you plainly at the consultation which of our four systems we are recommending for you and why.
Ask, and we will explain the reasoning. If a recommendation cannot be explained in plain language, that is a reasonable thing to be suspicious of at any practice.
Energy treatments build, so most are planned as a series. The number depends on what we are treating and how your skin responds, and you will get a realistic range rather than a marketing one.
Skin type changes what is safe and what settings are appropriate. We assess yours first and we will tell you honestly if an energy treatment is not the right choice for you.
No. This is the rule we do not bend, on any platform. We will reschedule you.
