Fullness Under the Chin, Without Surgery
An injectable that permanently destroys fat cells beneath the chin, for people who want the change without an operation.

Deoxycholic Acid, Placed Where the Fat Is
Kybella is an injectable form of deoxycholic acid, a molecule your body already makes to break down dietary fat. Injected into the fat pad under the chin, it disrupts the fat cell membrane and those cells are cleared by the body over the following weeks.
The distinction that matters is this. Once a fat cell is destroyed it does not come back. That makes Kybella different from a treatment you have to keep repeating to hold the result, and it is why we take the assessment seriously before starting.
It also means Kybella is the wrong answer for some people. If what you are seeing under the chin is loose skin rather than fat, or a jawline that has lost definition for structural reasons, dissolving fat will not fix it and may make the looseness more obvious. We will tell you which one you have.
A Good Fit If Any of This Sounds Familiar
The assessment decides this, not the request. Some people who ask for Kybella need something else entirely.
Three Steps, Start to Finish
We Work Out What Is Actually There
Fat, loose skin and a recessed chin look similar in a mirror and need completely different answers. This is the whole consultation.
We Map and Treat
The area is marked in a grid and treated with a series of small injections. The appointment itself is short.
We Space the Sessions
Most people need more than one. We wait for the swelling to fully settle before deciding whether you need another, so we are judging a real result rather than a halfway one.
If It Is Loose Skin, Kybella Will Not Fix It
We would rather send you toward the right treatment than sell you the one you walked in asking for.
Swelling Is Part of How This Works
Why the Result Does Not Reverse
Deoxycholic acid is a bile acid. In the gut it emulsifies dietary fat. Injected into subcutaneous fat it disrupts the cell membrane, and the cell contents are cleared by the body's normal inflammatory and lymphatic processes over the following weeks. The swelling you feel is that process happening.
Because the cell itself is destroyed rather than shrunk, the result holds in a way that treatments acting on cell size do not. Significant weight gain can still enlarge the fat cells that remain, so the area is not immune to what happens elsewhere in your body.
Kybella is FDA approved for submental fullness. The risks worth knowing about include prolonged swelling, firmness, numbness and, uncommonly, injury to the nerve that controls the lower lip, which is why placement and anatomy matter. We will go through all of it before you decide.

What People Ask Us First
It depends on how much fullness is there and how you respond. Most people need more than one. We will give you a realistic expectation at consultation rather than quoting a number that sounds appealing.
Honestly, it can be significant for the first few days and it is more than most people expect. It is temporary and it is part of the mechanism, but you should plan your calendar around it.
The fat cells destroyed by the treatment do not return. Substantial weight gain can enlarge the cells that were not treated, so the area still responds to what happens in the rest of your body.
Then Kybella on its own is likely to disappoint you, and it can make looseness more visible. That is exactly the kind of thing we sort out before treating rather than after.
Yes. Neck liposuction addresses the same area differently and suits some people better. We perform both, so the recommendation you get here is not shaped by which one we happen to offer.
